Long story short, I was trying to achieve the gnome achievement and during the game I save a lot so I don't have to re-do a lot of parts if I die. I would also sometimes leave the gnome behind to finish an area and run back to get it (like when there's a hunter-chopper shooting at you while in the car and the gnome just falls out) those parts.
